Which is why, when it came time for the instrument to be sold at auction, it seemed like the Grammy winner’s boyfriend Travis Kelce would be the perfect purchaser—that is until he withdrew his bid.
In response to a clip that has since gone viral of Travis at the auction—which was in support of teammate Patrick Mahomes’ Mahomies Foundation—Jason joked during the pair’s New Heights podcast May 21, “There’s this clip of you helping raise money for a good cause by running up an auction price for a signed guitar.”
To which Travis quickly objected, “Running up an auction price? No, I put my paddle up because I wanted it then I realized, ‘Oh, I already have that one.’”
And indeed, in the clip from the event played during the podcast, Travis stood up to tell the auctioneer after placing a bid, “I just realized I have that one,” earning him laughter both at the event and in real-time from his older brother.
