Kid Cudi has been called to testify in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex-trafficking and racketeering trial.
Prosectuor Maurene Comey announced Tuesday that the rapper, who had a relationship with Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, is expected to the stand Wednesday or Thursday.
During the trial, Ventura had previously testified that Combs learned that she was dating rapper Kid Cudi at one of his “freak-off” parties while going through her phone messages. Combs, Ventura said in her testimony, threatened to blow up Cudi’s car, before the vehicle blew up in early 2012. She also testified that Combs threatened to release two sex tapes featuring her and that he’d send an individual to harm her and Cudi.
After Ventura first filed her lawsuit — which also included the allegations about his car — back in 2023, a rep for Cudi confirmed to the New York Times that a car of his had exploded, but provided no more details. “This is all true,” the rep told the outlet at the time.
Cudi will testify after George Kaplan, a former employee who Ventura testified had quit after witnessing abuse, per CNN.
“I feared for my career. I feared for my family. It’s just embarrassing, all of it,” Ventura said will testifying last week. “It could ruin everything I worked for. Make me look like a slut.”
More to come.
